Good Saturday and Happy Halloween! We have showers moving in from west to east across the region today, and that may cause some issues with all the big events going on. That said, this does not look like a washout of a day.
The rain breaks out in western Kentucky early today and weakens a bit as it works into central Kentucky this afternoon and evening. The timing of the arrival of the showers into Lexington could put the Breeders’ Cup in play.
Showers should arrive somewhere between 4pm and 8pm. This should generally be light and really nothing more than a nuisance. Moral of the story, wall to wall rainfall isn’t expected, but scattered showers are very possible. Take a poncho or the rain gear with you if you’re heading to the Breeders’ Cup or Commonwealth Stadium for the Cats and the Vols.
I have you all set to track the progress of the light showers:

Gusty showers will be around into early Sunday before we catch a break in the action as highs reach the 60s. Additional rains increase later in the day with scattered showers into Monday.
Election Day Tuesday looks great with readings in the low 70s and partly sunny skies. From there, temps stay warm with low and middle 70s for highs on a gusty southwesterly wind.
A cold front approaches from the region by Friday and Saturday with showers and thunderstorms on the increase.
I will drop by for an update on the Halloween rain chances later today. Enjoy your Saturday and take care.
