November arrives with some milder air

Good Sunday, folks. November is off and running with some milder air blowing into the region over the next several days. This milder air may also produce another round of some showers to start the week.

The showers take a break for several hours Sunday as clouds and the sun do battle. Highs will be in the 60s in most areas.

An area of low pressure rolls from the southwest into east Tennessee on Sunday night and Monday. That brings an increase in rain across the eastern half of the state. The NAM rainfall forecast shows some decent totals through Monday in southeastern Kentucky:

NAMThat system moves away by Election Day as much milder air sweeps in. Highs from Tuesday through Thursday should be in the 70- to 75-degree range in many areas. Skies look mainly sunny, but a shower or storm will be possible by Thursday.

GFSThat’s a potent front that introduces another round of very chilly air by next weekend. Some of the models are really knocking those temps way down. The Canadian Model has lows deep into the 20s:
