Good Sunday to one and all. The weekend is wrapping up on a chilly, but nice note across central and eastern Kentucky. Words to the wise… enjoy it because our weather looks very busy during the upcoming week.
Highs today reach the 50-55 degree mark for many with a mix of sun and clouds.
Clouds will increase quickly on Monday with afternoon showers increasing from the south. This is in response to a system from the Gulf working toward the Carolinas into later Monday and Tuesday. That means showers and chilly weather around here:
Once that system moves away, our focus will quickly turn to a system coming our way from the plains. A deepening area of low pressure will work into the Great Lakes late Wednesday and Thursday. That could bring some wild weather our way:
Depending on the timing of the front, a line of strong or severe storms would be possible. With such a strong storm system, high winds could also be a big player.
As that low moves into Canada, much colder air dives in here from Friday into next weekend:
The longer range models continue to point toward another big system coming our way for the following week. Overall, the models are coming in with more of a wintry look across North America into the middle of the month:
Make it a great day and take care.
