Colder air moving in

Good Thursday to one and all. Very gusty winds are blowing across the state as much colder air gets ready to pour in for the weekend. This is seasonal cold and nothing out of the ordinary.

Morning showers Thursday will give way to a mix of sun and clouds, with highs in the low and middle 50s in many areas. Winds will be gusty and could approach 30 mph at times.



Colder air comes in for Friday and Saturday. Take a look at the numbers:

NAMThe good news is that skies will be mainly clear from Friday through Sunday as our flow comes from the northwest:

NAM 2You’ll want to take advantage of the dry weather, because things go the other way very quickly early next week. That’s when another big storm system develops and slowly works our from the southwest:

CanadianThat could mean some very heavy rain, with the threat of thunderstorms. Winds could also be a big problem during that time.

Much colder air comes in behind that system by the end of the week, with an even colder surge potentially moving in on Thanksgiving week.
