A few snowflakes possible Wednesday night

Good Wednesday, folks.  Our run of very ugly and wet weather is finally coming to an end. Many areas have picked up 2 to 4 inches of rain since last Friday. Now, our attention turns to the possibility of a few snowflakes.

The flakes could fly on a colder northwesterly wind setting up late Wednesday and Wednesday night. Before that happens, highs spike into the upper 40s with a mix of sun and clouds. The clouds fill back in with that chance for rain or snow showers in the evening.

The GFS has been consistent in showing this:

GFSGFS 2That’s probably nothing more than some flakes flying, but Northern Kentucky could see a rooftop duster or two.

Much better conditions move in for the rest of the week into the weekend. That is likely to give way to another potent upper level system moving in by Monday:

EuroChilly showers with an outside shot at some flakes could accompany that system.

The longer range setup continues to evolve toward more of a true winter-looking pattern by the middle of the month.

I leave you with your tracking tools for the day. Enjoy:

Have a great Wednesday and take care.
