Good Saturday to one and all. We have much colder weather across the region today, and this is just the beginning. An arctic cold front is ready to sweep in here on Sunday with bitterly cold air coming in behind that.
Highs today will hit the low and middle 30s in most areas. Skies will be mostly cloudy with some flurries or light snow showers dancing about the air.
The GFS continues to develop a storm in the south with some moisture from that reaching all the way into southeastern Kentucky late tonight and Sunday morning…
That would cause light snow to break out in those areas. That’s something to watch for before the arctic front moves in with a band of snow showers and gusty winds later Sunday.
Bitterly cold temps settle in behind that for Monday and Tuesday with overnight lows hitting the single digits. A few spots may be near zero with wind chills going below zero at times.
The GFS continues to throw a snow maker our way by Wednesday…
The European Model has also started picking up on this possibility:
How strong that snow maker is may depend on what happens with a system coming in behind it a few days later. We shall see.
Make it a great Saturday and take care.
