Good Monday, everyone. Bitterly cold air is back in the bluegrass state and is giving us dangerously cold wind chills. This air kicks off a week of harsh winter weather that features an increase in snow chances.
Let’s start with the frigid temps and roll forward. We start out the day with readings ranging from 0 to 9 degrees. Wind chills be could be close to -10 at times. Highs this afternoon will reach the mid teens for many areas.
Tuesday morning is another bitterly cold one with actual temps ranging from 0 to 9 degrees, again.
A snow system follows this up Tuesday night and Wednesday. The European Model shows a decent snowfall for many:
The trend with this model has been very consistent for the Wednesday snow potential.
The storm coming in behind this continues to show up strongly from Thursday night through Saturday…
That storm might become a headline maker from the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic and northeastern states during this time.
The European Model has plenty of support from it’s Ensembles:
That’s the average of 51 members… the average.
The control run of the European Ensembles…
