Tracking a winter storm across Kentucky

Good Sunday and Happy Valentine’s Day. Snow develops from west to east across Kentucky and continues through tonight. This is a low end winter storm that will likely put down several inches of snow across our region.

Here’s a breakdown:

  • The snow starts in western Kentucky early this morning and reaches central Kentucky by midday. From there, it works across the east during the afternoon.
  • Light to moderate snow will take us through tonight with the heaviest totals likely along and south of Interstate 64. Here’s a look at my snowfall forecast:

  • With a frozen ground and road temps well below freezing, roads will quickly become snow covered.
  • Snow continues into tonight as temps slowly climb. The next wave of this storm comes our way Monday with more of a mix of rain and snow. Temps during this time will be near freezing or a little above.
