Good Thursday, everyone. Much milder air is slowly pressing into the region from the southwest. That will boost our weekend temps way up, but this taste of spring is only temporary. Old Man Winter returns early next week.
Lingering low clouds and fog might be tough to break early in the day. Eventually, there will be a mix of sun and clouds, with highs in the 40s.
Highs Friday should hit 60 in most areas. Gusty winds could reach 40 to 50 mph at times.
Highs this weekend make a run at 60 or a little higher , but it’s not as if it’s going to be picture-perfect. A few showers might crash the party late Friday and early Saturday. The NAM simulated radar:
A much better chance of showers will be with us on Sunday. Temps behind that rain drop by Monday as we follow a big dip in the jet stream.
The models still show a winter storm in the east, but it changes from run to run. Here’s the latest European model:

If this storm is real, there’s no guarantee it will have a direct impact on our weather. That said, the overall pattern suggests we have a shot at more winter weather next week.
