A major storm system on the way

Good Monday, everyone. We have a major winter storm set to impact the Ohio River Valley over the next several days. This storm will bring all kinds of wild weather to central and eastern Kentucky. That’s likely to be followed up by an arctic front, with another storm system behind that.

Let’s get into it…

This is a storm will be a monster of a system that deepens right on top of Kentucky. That setup likely means a very wild Wednesday and Thursday. Heavy rain, thunder, VERY high winds, crashing temps and snow will all be likely during this time.

Here’s our storm…

This is a HUGE storm that takes up a lot of real estate…

Euro 3

That is just an impressive sight to see and will be a headline making event for millions of people. The winds with that could be off the charts and cause all kinds of issues.

The latest of the European Model shows some decent wraparound snows for us as the storm lifts into Ohio by Thursday…

Euro 2

With that look, accumulating snows will be possible Wednesday night and Thursday. Could be a little or more than a little… It’s still too early to tell.

Regardless, this is going to be a very high impact system for Kentucky.

It will be followed up by a arctic front to star next weekend…

Euro 4

That’s some wicked cold moving into the Great Lakes and northeast. Since the core of the bitter stuff stays to our north, it could allow for another storm to develop and work across the Tennessee Valley about a week from now.

As you can clearly see, Old Man Winter isn’t even close to being done with us.

Make it a great Monday and take care.
