Winter is back for a couple days

Good Thursday to one and all. Old Man Winter is back in the Bluegrass State for the next couple of days. Light snow and gusty winds highlight the forecast into Friday. Hang in there; it gets a whole lot better this weekend.

Thursday’s snow will be very wet and can accumulate on grassy and elevated surfaces. Anywhere from a coating to 2 inches will be possible, but this shouldn’t have a big impact on roads. Ground temps are very mild, so we will see a lot of melting snow out there.

Flakes will continue into Friday, with highs in the 30s.

This shot of winter isn’t going to last very long. Take a look at your weekend highs:

EuroSkies will be partly to mostly sunny, with gusty winds on the increase.

Another cold front drops in Monday with a few showers and cooler air. That is likely to be followed by a stronger storm by the middle and end of next week. The GFS has a similar-looking storm to the one we have now:

gfsThere’s a lot of back and forth taking shape for the month of March. We still have some winter weather threats to go through before full spring.
