Good Saturday, everyone. The final weekend of February is upon us and it’s looking like a winner with sun and mild temperatures. March is just around the corner, and it’s showing signs of roaring in.
Highs today will reach the low 50s with skies becoming mostly sunny. Winds will be a littler gusty, but nothing like what we see on Sunday. That’s when winds crank to 40mph or a little greater in the afternoon and evening.
Those southwesterly winds will usher in temps well into the 60s for most areas.
A cold front moves our way Sunday night and early Monday with a band of showers. This system doesn’t have much moisture to work with, and will only knock our temps down a few degrees.
That system can’t amplify very much because of the stronger system screaming in behind it for later Tuesday and Wednesday. The GFS indicates we will be dealing with another potent system, capable of producing thunderstorms and wraparound snows:
The European Model is similar…
The model follows that up with another system…
I guess we shall see what next week holds, but we will worry about that after we get through this nice weekend.
