Showers and storms increase

Good Thursday, everyone. Our early taste of spring is being accompanied by an increase in showers and thunderstorms. This action comes at us in waves over the next several days, and it gets started now.

We’re likely to see a band of showers and storms around early Thursday, with some clearing setting up by early afternoon. The extent of that clearing will be the big determining factor in temps. If you clear early enough, highs in the mid- and upper 70s are possible. Hold onto the clouds longer and your area will stay in the 60s.

Additional showers and storms then work in Thursday evening. The models continue to point toward some significant rain totals across central and western parts of the region:

The rain will take a break by Friday afternoon as cooler air moves in. Highs will again be above normal:

NAM 3Saturday will find highs surging into the 70s again, with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Rounds of showers and storms will then carry us through Sunday and into Monday. GFS rain totals from now through Monday are on the hefty side:

GFS Rain

The pattern into next week continues to look like a mild one with additional rounds of showers and storms possible.

I have you all set to track Thursday’s weather:

Make it  a great day and take care.
