Good Monday, folks. We are coming off one of the better spring weekends you will ever find across our region. That nice weather rolls into the start of the new week, but changes are lurking for the second half of the week.
Highs Monday will probably be similar to normal numbers from late June. Highs should hit the low and middle 80s for much of the state:
Highs in the low 80s will again be possible Tuesday as some high clouds roll in during the afternoon and evening. Those clouds are ahead of some changes showing up by late Wednesday. That’s when the NAM indicates the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms:
This action is ahead of an upper level low spinning from the plains states into the Ohio Valley. This system is right on top of us Thursday and Friday, and should produce a decent amount of showers and storms:
That should bring some cooler air in, with highs in the 60s. That doesn’t last too long as another blast of warmth moves in for the weekend. Highs by Sunday or Monday could be back in the 80s.
This should set the stage for a much more active storm pattern for the final week of April into Kentucky Derby week. That’s something I will be watching closely as we roll forward.
Make it a magnificent Monday and take care.
