Good Wednesday, everyone. The weather pattern continues to skew much colder than normal for the first week of May, and some showers and storms are back in town. This action hangs on for a few days before milder air moves in for Derby weekend.
Will that milder air bring some storms into the region? I’ll get to that in a bit.
Wednesday’s showers and storms will be around as a cold front dives in from the northwest. Some of these storms might contain gusty winds and some small hail.
Leftover chilly showers will be around into Thursday, with highs only in the upper 50s to the low 60s. That’s rather March-like, especially after morning lows near 40.
Kentucky Oaks day looks better, with skies becoming partly sunny and highs reaching 65 to 70.
A cold front is poised to drop in from the northwest by Saturday night and early Sunday. This could throw a few storms into the region around Kentucky Derby time:
Some of the models are spitting out some substantial rain totals through Sunday morning:
Make it a great day and take care.
