Good Saturday, everybody. This is about the time of year we get our first 90 degree temperature in Lexington and surrounding areas. Right on cue, Mother nature is ready to throw a 90 our way today. This steamy air hangs through the weekend, with storms waiting in the wings for next week.
Most areas will hit 90 or the low 90s out there today as skies stay mostly sunny:
A weak front drops in on Sunday with a small chance for a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will come down a few degrees from what we see today.
Thunderstorms will ramp up early next week and really kick into high gear by the middle and end of the week. That’s when we see a slow-moving upper level system working in from the northwest:
That’s a setup that can lead to rounds of showers and thunderstorms that can put down a lot of rain.
