Tracking a weak cold front

Good Sunday, everyone. After our first 90 degree temps of the summer, we are now tracking a weak cold front into the region. This won’t do a whole lot to cool us way down, but will knock a few degrees off the thermometer, and could spawn a few storms. The stormy weather should ramp up in the week ahead.

Highs today will be back into the upper 80s to near 90. As our front drops in from the north, it can touch off a scattered thunderstorm or two. As always, I have your hook up for tracking:

.

Monday will be much less humid, and a little cooler. There is still the threat for a storm or two going up, but the greatest storm chances won’t come our way until the middle and end of the week.

This is when an upper level system drops in from the northwest:

GFS 2

That would up the ante on the heavy rain potential over the next week or so. The GFS is spitting out some hefty totals:

GFS

Have a great day and take care.
