Tracking strong storms across Kentucky

Good Wednesday, everyone. It’s shaping up to be a rather stormy day across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Rounds of thunderstorms are pushing through the state, and some of these could be strong or severe.

The air out there Wednesday is very tropical in nature and is aiding in the development of thunderstorms. This is fuel for the possible severe-weather fire.

The main threats continue to be from damaging winds and large hail. These storms will also produce prolific lightning and rain across our region. With so much moisture in the air, watch for local flash flooding.

The storms will take a break later Wednesday night and early Thursday, but another round of storms might blow through by Thursday evening.
