Some heat relief on the way

Good Thursday to one and all. This might wind up as the hottest day we’ve had so far this year. As highs hit the 90s, I’m tracking a much better brand of air pushing into the region for the weekend.

Highs Thursday day should reach the low 90s into much of Central and Eastern Kentucky. A high of 95 is possible across southern parts of the region. There also is the chance that a late-day shower or thunderstorm fires up.

Track away:

Cooler air blows into the region for Friday as a big storm system wraps up along the East Coast. Highs may reach only the low 80s in many areas:

There still could be a leftover shower or storm across the east. That shows up well on the GFS:

Highs this weekend will generally run in the 80s with mostly sunny skies. Overall, that’s a pretty darn nice weekend. Lows might drop into the upper 50s in a few spots.

The heat builds back in early next week was we make another run at 90 degrees, but a cold front tries to cut the heat off:

Showers and storms may bring some much better temps back for the middle and end of next week.

Have a great day and take care.
