Good Saturday and welcome to the weekend. Hot and humid weather is back in the bluegrass state, and looks to hang tough through the weekend. The good news is, this pattern looks to break pretty quickly into early next week.
Highs today will range from the upper 80s to low 90s across much of central and eastern Kentucky. There is a small threat for a shower or thunderstorm going up in the afternoon.
90-95 degree high temps are a good bet on Sunday as humidity levels increase. Heat index values may reach 100 degrees. Once again, a scattered shower or thunderstorm can go up during the afternoon and evening.
Showers and storms will increase Sunday night and Monday as a cold front drops in from the northwest:
The models are advertising a much cooler pattern taking shape behind this front. Check out the cooler than normal area settling into our region for the middle of the week:
This may come as another system moves in with additional showers and thunderstorms possible.
Have a great Saturday and stay cool.
