Good Monday, folks. The month of August is about to run out of days, and that means Labor Day weekend is almost upon us. After a run of some very hot weather, we do have some cooler changes on the way as we open up September.
Before we get to the forecast, let’s talk about those powerful storms in Central Kentucky on Sunday. Let some of my tweets do the talking:

Some impressive stuff, and a few more strong storms could be on the move Monday. This comes as highs return to the upper 80s and low 90s. Track away:
Tuesday will feature similar weather as our changes start to show up by Wednesday. Temps come down just a bit ahead of a cold front sweeping in early Thursday. This front should have a band of showers and storms with it:
Much cooler air comes in behind this, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s on Thursday. The Friday highs continue to come down a bit on the models:
Very pleasant low temps should be noted:
From there, the overall pattern should be dictated by a tropical system coming out of the Gulf of Mexico:
