A more active pattern on the way

Good Tuesday, folks. Summer rolls on across Central and Eastern Kentucky as steamy weather continues. Most of us would love to get another shot of cool in here, and I do see several cold fronts that can do the trick.

The first front won’t arrive until the weekend. Until then, highs will be about 90, with overnight lows not too far from 70. There is a small chance of storms Tuesday and Wednesday, but the threat should really increase later Thursday and Friday:

A much stronger cold front arrives early Saturday and could bring a more impressive band of showers and thunderstorms. The Canadian model:

The GFS is very similar:

That’s a pretty sharp trough showing up on both models, and it should be able to knock our highs into the 70s for a few days. Lows can drop close to 50 by Sunday and Monday:

Another big cold front might follow that up into early next week:

That could push our numbers way below normal. Some of the forecast models show our first taste of lows in the 40s. I’m sure many of us would be just fine with that!

Have a great day and take care.
