Wet weather for the weekend

Good Friday, everyone. Coming off another soaker of a summer, it’s hard to believe we could use some rain across our part of the world. But, that’s exactly the case, as September has been dry as a bone.

The weekend looks to change that, with showers and thunderstorms on the increase. It’s not going to rain all the time, but some heavy downpours will be possible.

The action kicks off later Friday, with scattered showers and storms increasing from the west. This might affect a few high school football games throughout the region.

I have you all set to do some Friday tracking:

The showers and storms will continue to ramp up overnight into Saturday. Additional showers and storms will be with us into Sunday. It’s not going to rain all weekend, but there will be pockets of greater than 1 inch of rain. The models show these pockets in various places, with the NAM being the most robust and widespread:

After a “normal” dip in the temps, readings are likely to surge again next week as summer continues to put in some overtime work.

Make it a great day and take care.
