Tracking cold fronts to end October

Good Tuesday, everyone. Nice weather rolls on for a few more days before a cold front sweeps into the region. This is the first of two fronts set to affect our weather before October is finished.

Highs Tuesday will be in the 60- to 65-degree range for many areas. Winds will be very gusty, and those winds really increase Wednesday and Thursday as the front moves in.

namHighs could hit 70 ahead of the front. The readings really come down by Thursday afternoon, to the upper 50s and low 60s. Friday morning could feature some frosty lows in the mid- and upper 30s.

Another front arrives over the weekend and should bring additional gusty winds and scattered showers:

If you’ve been reading this thing lately,  you know I’ve been talking about the potential for winter getting off to a fast start.

The CFS is going right toward a winter look as we get into November. Watch how the trough starts to deepen across the eastern part of the country:

That kind of setup would certainly lead to a cold middle and end of November. Could we get some true winter weather with it? That’s certainly a possibility.

Have a great day and take care.
