Good Wednesday to one and all. Christmas is getting closer, so the forecast takes on added importance. Unfortunately for those wanting a white Christmas, the pattern isn’t going to cooperate.
Let’s start with Wednesday:
Some freezing fog will start the day as highs will bounce into the 40s under a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be gusty at times, but this looks like a pretty good day.
A weak front knocks the numbers back down some on Thursday, and I can’t rule out a passing snowflake.
The weekend system throws the first shot of rain at us Friday night and Saturday. Can the leading edge of that start as a touch of sleet? That’s a possibility that shows up on the NAM:
The GFS also shows this possibility:
Some healthy rains move through on Saturday, Christmas Eve, with the main storm moving in Monday:
Winds will be very gusty, with highs surging toward 60 late Christmas Day and Monday.
How much rain may fall from Friday night through Monday? The GFS shows more than an inch:
Another system will follow that by the middle of next week into New Year’s weekend.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and take care.
