Good Thursday, folks. Rounds of showers and storms will target the region this weekend, and some of them could be severe. This action comes on the heels of scattered storms rumbling across the region.
Thursday’s storms will come from a broken line working quickly to the east. One or two could be strong as they zip in and out of town pretty quickly:

A surge of warm, moist and unstable air will then sweep in Friday and take us through the weekend. We will see thunderstorms develop quickly late Friday and Friday night. Some of these could be strong or severe, with repeat thunderstorm action. Some of that continues into Saturday. Here’s the rough outline for severe weather during this time:
That action will slowly lift to the north on Saturday, but we will need to watch for some storms blowing up. Low pressure then works toward the Great Lakes on Sunday, bringing another round of strong and severe storms eastward Sunday night:
We will need to be on guard for some very heavy rain falling across the central and western parts of the state.
