Storms increase this week

Good Monday to one and all. Our new week is starting out on a frosty note in many areas, but rain and thunderstorms are set to take over by Tuesday. This action will carry us through the rest of the week, with much colder air waiting for the weekend. Sigh.

Highs Monday will reach 65 to 70 in many areas, with partly sunny skies. Warmer air will then try to fight in for the next few days, with thunderstorms developing on the leading edge of it.

These storms develop from northwest to southeast Tuesday and Wednesday, and they could put down some hefty rain amounts. The NAM would indicate a flash-flood threat:

The GFS isn’t as aggressive, but it has been trending that direction over the past few days:

From there, additional showers and thunderstorms will be noted for the rest of the week as a front stalls on top of us. This will be followed by a storm system to start the weekend:

That’s a pretty ugly setup, with much colder than normal air waiting to push back in for the weekend. These numbers are well below normal:

That’s another very ugly look!

Make it a great Monday and take care.
