Wet weather gives way to a great weekend

Good Friday, everyone. Our Friday is another ugly one, with showers and lower temps tag-teaming the Bluegrass State. This will give way to much, much better weather blowing in for the weekend.

Highs Firday are generally in the 60s, but they could drop into the upper 50s at times. Your Friday tracking tools:

Saturday might start with some clouds but will end with mostly sunny skies and highs pushing the 70-degree mark.

Mother’s Day looks good, with highs nearing 80 with mainly sunny skies.

After that, it’s a May version of heat and humidity. This setup comes from a big ridge of high pressure across the eastern half of the country:

This could throw some 90-degree highs our way for the middle and end of the week:

It’s awfully early to be talking about temps that high.

This pattern might eventually lead to more strong or severe storms late next week and the following weekend.
