Good Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Today’s weather is looking very warm and that’s a sign of things to come. The upcoming week will give us a little preview of the summer ahead.
Highs today are generally around 80 for much of central and eastern Kentucky. Here’s a look at the temps for the Lexington metro:
While this is a mainly dry day, there is a small threat for a shower or thunderstorm developing. The best chance may be across the east:
Temps for the week ahead look downright toasty with mid and upper 80s possible each day:
The next threat for scattered showers and storms won’t be until Thursday and Friday. That’s ahead of a slow-moving cold front well to our west. That will keep the threat for a few storms going into next weekend. All in all, the heaviest rains during this time may be to our west:
Temps will still be very warm into next weekend, but a more typical May pattern returns for the following week. That should knock our temps back down and increase our storm chances.
