Good Monday, folks. We’re coming off an absolutely gorgeous weekend with pleasant temps and sunny skies. We will keep the sun, but add a summer feel to the air this week. These summer temps will then give way for more storms later in the week into the coming weekend.
Highs today through Wednesday will generally range from the middle to upper 80s in most areas. Skies stay dry as humidity levels increase.
Scattered storms will then rumble in here for Thursday and Friday. This will be ahead of a storm system approaching us this weekend. That leads to an increase in showers and thunderstorms as temps stay warm.
The models are a little more bullish on the rain chances. Check out the rainfall forecast from the GFS for the next week:
The temperature pattern reverses early next week as our jet stream takes a big dip into the eastern half of the country:
It’s hard for any one pattern to get established in this type a setup. The progressive look suggests rounds of rain and storms will be returning to the region and the Ensembles show that well:
