A much cooler-than-normal pattern

Good Tuesday, everyone. We have a September looking and feeling pattern rolling into the region this week. Temps will be well below normal, with just a small chance of a shower or two. If you’re missing summer, hang in there. It’s coming back this weekend.

Highs Tuesday will be in the low and middle 70s, with a mix of sun and clouds. There is just a small chance of isolated showers.

A better shower chance develops Wednesday as a huge upper low moves in:

That looks pretty isolated, but the chance is definitely there.

Our same upper low then spins across the region Thursday, with unsettled weather rolling on. Gusty showers are possible, especially across the eastern half of the region:

This overall setup brings much below-normal temperatures to the eastern half of the country. Look how far south the cooler air gets:

For central and eastern Kentucky, highs Wednesday and Thursday will be in the upper 60s and low 70s. Lows could reach the upper 40s at times.

Warmer air fights back this weekend, with highs hitting the low and middle 80s. There is just a small storm chance as the warm air moves in.

Storm chances will increase next week ahead of another cold front dropping in from the northwest.

Have a great day and take care.
