Good Sunday to one and all. We are rolling into the middle of June with increasing amounts of steam and storms. The pattern for the week ahead has a very tropical look and feel to it, and this may cause a few problems.
Let’s focus on our Sunday before looking too far ahead. Highs today will be in the mid and upper 80s with a mix of sun and clouds. Humidity levels will be on the increase:

Highs on Monday will be near 90 with an increase in humidity and an increase in showers and storms.
The setup for the week ahead will feature deep tropical moisture moving into our region from the Gulf of Mexico. That shows up well on this loop:
Scattered showers and storms will become much more common as the week wears on. With so much moisture in the air, storms can put down some significant rainfall. This could lead to some local flash flood issues at times.
The models continue to hint at another deep trough digging into the eastern half of the country next weekend into the following week:
That could be able to knock our temps way back down, if that is indeed the case.
