Good Thursday, folks. July continues to throw rounds of showers and storms our way, and that a pattern continues into the start of the weekend. Once into the weekend, things look much better for the Commonwealth.
We have another low pressure working across the region Thursday, bringing showers and thunderstorms. These storms could produce some heavy rain totals, leading to local high-water problems. Some of these storms could be on the strong side:
A cold front moves our way late Friday and will bring the threat of additional strong storms. If we get some sunshine ahead of this line of storms, damaging winds could be possible in the evening hours.
Much cooler air then slides in for the weekend, with highs in the upper 70s to the low 80s for Saturday. Humidity will be low, with a mix of sun and clouds.
There’s a chance for a storm as early as Sunday night, but the true return of storms may hold off into early next week. This is when we will start to watch for storm clusters to dive in from the northwest:
Those storms can be strong with more heavy rain. It’s just that type of summer, folks.
Make it a great Thursday and take care.
