Toasty temps before storms increase

Good Wednesday, folks. Our middle of the week is bringing some of the hottest temps of the entire summer. Of course, that’s not saying much during this wimpy summer, but 90-degree highs are a good bet. This happens before showers and storms kick into high gear to end the week.

Highs Wednesday will be near 90 in most of Central and Eastern Kentucky. Steamy air will make it feel a few degrees warmer than that. There is a small chance of isolated showers and storms in the afternoon and evening.

Showers and storms will then increase as we head into Thursday. The action becomes more widespread as we head into Friday with another front showing up late Sunday and Monday. Watch it all play out on the GFS:

Those storms might be a little on the strong side and could put down some very heavy rain.

In between the fronts, the weather on Saturday and early Sunday looks great!

The pattern for next week is likely to feature another battle between hot air in the southwest, and cooler air in the north and northeast. That puts the bluegrass state right in the middle of the battleground.

Have a great day and take care.
