Good Thursday, folks. Showers and storms will increase later in the day, and this is a sign of things to come. I’m tracking two cold fronts into the Bluegrass State as we roll into the weekend.
Let’s begin with Thursday. The heat index is well into the 90s as actual highs flirt with 90 in many areas, but scattered showers and storms will come through. These storms will increase as we head into the afternoon and evening, and some could be strong in the north.

Cold front number one blows in Friday, with showers and storms. With the front right on top of Kentucky, some strong or severe storms can’t be ruled out.
Here’s the latest from the Storm Prediction Center:
That front clears the region, setting us up for a great-looking Saturday. Highs will be in the low 80s with a mix of sun and clouds, and lower humidity.
The next front arrives by Sunday evening. This should produce a line of storms that could carry us into early Monday. You can see that line dropping in from the northwest:
Much cooler air comes in behind that, with below-normal temps likely in the first few days of next week.
Have a great Thursday and take care.
