A big cool-down follows the heat

Good Wednesday, everyone. We have a lot of heat and humidity taking over the pattern, but it’s not going to hang around very long. A change to much cooler than normal is lurking for late this weekend and next week, and it will bring an increase in storms.

Highs Wednesday will top out in the upper 80s to near 90 in most areas. Humidity might make it feel 90 to 95 for many people.

Thursday through Saturday will feature the hottest stretch of weather of the summer. Highs should range from 90 to 95, with a heat index near 100 degrees.

Can we fire up a few storms to help things out? That’s a possibility late Friday and Saturday as a few storms ride in from the northwest:

If those do move in, they could keep our temps under the forecast highs. I won’t complain if that’s the case. 🙂

Rain and storms will then increase Sunday into early next week:

This comes from a significant dip in the jet stream, bringing a much cooler-than-normal air mass into the eastern half of the country:

That would be a heck of a cool-down for the final full week of July.

Make it a great day and take care.
