Good Saturday and welcome to the weekend. Rounds of storms are targeting the region this weekend, keeping the heat in check. These storms will then kick the heat out of the Bluegrass State, with a much better brand of air coming in early next week.
Saturday will still be steamy in most areas. Highs will be all over the place, ranging from the middle 80s to the low 90s. Rounds of showers and storms will develop as the day wears on, with some of the storms being strong. The greatest threat for that is across the north and northeast.

A cold front drops in Sunday, increasing the threat of showers and storms. This might also give us an increased chance of high wind and hail. The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center has parts of our region in the severe weather risk:
Showers and a few storms continue into Monday as the front slides southeast. Some locally heavy rainfall numbers may show up through Monday:
That allows much cooler and less humid air to filter in behind it. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday should be from the low to middle 80s with partly cloudy skies. Lows should be about 60-65.
Another system then works in later next week with more showers and storms developing. The setup looks pretty active as we say goodbye to July and roll into August.
Have a great Saturday and take care.
