Good Friday, folks. We have made it to the final weekend of August, but it feels more like the last weekend of September. Temps continue to run on the pleasant side of the thermometer and no one is complaining.
While we are enjoying the nice weather, things are heating up in the Gulf of Mexico. That’s where Hurricane Harvey is ready to lash Texas. Can that impact our weather next week? I will touch on that in a bit.
Highs today will be back in the middle 70s under a partly sunny sky. This will set the stage for another awesome evening for high school football fans with temps dropping through the 60s.
Saturday looks very similar to what we have out there today.
Some clouds will increase on Sunday, with the smallest chance for a shower or storm late. Storm chances ramp up on Monday as a system dives in from the northwest:
Some of the storms can put down decent rains through Tuesday:
Once past this, we will have to see if the remnants of Harvey can bring rain our way. Hurricane Harvey is a powerful storm heading toward an overnight landfall with Texas:
The models keep that storm around Texas and Louisiana for several days, then try to send it our way. Nothing is set in stone on this system bringing us rain, but it’s a possibility late next week.
We still have several days to watch that. Make it a great Friday and take care.
