Good Tuesday, everyone. Our summer pattern never really got going during the actual summer months, but it’s doing some work out there for the first few days of fall. Hang in there, fall fans: Some of the good stuff is on the way.
Highs out there Tuesday will hit the mid- and upper 80s in most areas, with a mix of sun and clouds. There is still the smallest chance of isolated showers or storms:
While summer temps continue into Wednesday, areas along the North Carolina coast are keeping watch on Hurricane Maria. This powerful storm will bring tropical storm- force conditions to the beaches, but the worst of the storm looks to stay in the Atlantic:
The latest track from the National Hurricane Center:
One of the things helping steer Maria out into the Atlantic is our fall cold front. That system arrives here late Wednesday, with a broken band of showers and storms possible:
That’s a nice shot of cool air coming in behind this front. Highs for Thursday and Friday will range from 70 to 75, with partly cloudy skies.
Another front dives in by Friday night:
That will usher in even cooler air for the weekend. Highs on Saturday should stay in the 60s, and in the upper 60s to low 70s on Sunday. Lows by Sunday morning might bottom out right about the 40-degree mark.
Overall, the coming weekend looks perfect for fall lovers!
Make it a great day and take care.
