A fall pattern settles in

Good Thursday, folks. It’s finally feeling the part of fall out there, and this is a sign of things to come. We have one heck of a stretch of very nice weather. Fall fans, rejoice!

Highs Thursday will be in the upper 60s to low 70s, with a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be breezy, making for a perfect fall day.

Friday will find highs near 70 with some clouds increasing during the afternoon and evening. That’s ahead of a weak cold front arriving from the northwest. This could produce a light shower, but most areas should stay dry.

The weather Saturday looks even better, with highs in the mid- to upper 60s. This makes for great weather for fans heading out to Kroger Field for the Kentucky-Eastern Michigan football game.

Lows by Sunday morning will make a run at 40, with pockets in the upper 30s possible in the eastern valleys.

Highs will be in the 70s early next week as we watch a cold front make a run at us. This could bring in a dying band of showers and storms by Tuesday:

The GFS wants to put us between cool air to the northeast and warm air to the southwest by Wednesday. If that happens, a shower or storm could develop between the two:

During this time, we have to watch the Gulf and the Caribbean for tropical development. That could affect the overall pattern by the end of the week and the following week.

Have a terrific Thursday and take care.
