Good Sunday to one and all. Our weather is calming down out there today, but that’s not going to last very long. The week ahead will feature several more systems impacting the region, continuing our hyper-active March pattern.
Let’s begin with the good stuff, then roll forward. Highs today will be in the upper 50s and low 60s with a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be gusty, but this is a pretty nice looking day.
Clouds will quickly thicken tonight, ahead of our next storm system. That rolls in with heavy rain and thunderstorms for Monday. Winds will also be very gusty as the low rolls right on top of us.
Another low then develops and works into southeastern Kentucky, with snow developing north and west of the low by Wednesday. You can see both systems well on the GFS:
It gets really cold again for the middle and end of the week. Lows by Thursday morning may drop into the upper teens in some of the coldest valleys:
Temps rebound a bit by Friday, but another potent storm system takes aim at the Ohio Valley next weekend:
Our March pattern continues to look about as ugly as you can get it for this time of year.
Have a great Sunday and take care.
