Good Tuesday, everyone. We have another chilly day out there, but things are about to take a turn for the better. It’s a much milder pattern settling in for the rest of the week, but it could lead us back into some big storms. At this point, I think most people will make that trade.
Highs on this Tuesday reach the upper 40s to low 50s, with just a small chance for showers.
Wednesday sees our temps taking off as your car thermometer hits the 60s. Southwest winds will then kick into high gear Thursday and Friday, bringing 70s into the region. There’s even the chance for 80 to show up on Friday.
That is ahead of a powerful plains storm system, slowly rolling toward the bluegrass state over the weekend. That can bring rounds of strong to severe storms, and heavy rains into the region:
Colder weather comes in behind this, but a quick rebound is likely early next week. Still, we are seeing the cold shots outweighing the warm shots through the rest of the month.
The GFS Ensembles 5 day temp departures from April 19-24th are impressive:
The CFS average temp anomalies for the rest of April as a whole are not good:
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
