Our stormy setup rolls on

Good Saturday, everyone. Rounds of showers and storms have been common over the past several days and we have more rumbling through this weekend. This is all part of a very active setup that looks to roll on through the week ahead.

Temps today are generally hitting the upper 70s and low 80s for highs, with a few scattered storms going up. One or two of the storms may be strong, but the coverage of storms may be a little less than what we have seen in recent days.

Another wave of low pressure works eastward into the state on Sunday, bringing an increase in showers and storms. This setup has a better chance of producing strong storms. Here’s the Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center:

Showers and storms will then increase across the state on Sunday and early Monday, with the greatest concentration being across the south:

Heavy rainfall may give us a renewed high water threat on the local level.

Heat is building across the plains over the next few days and will expand into next week. This puts Kentucky in the line of fire for northwest to southeast moving clusters of thunderstorms:
