Good Saturday, everybody. We’ve made it to the first weekend of August and our temps are about where we should be for this time of year. With a little more steam in the atmosphere, we will also be watching for a few storms to go up.
Today’s storms are pretty scattered, with the greatest concentration coming in the afternoon and evening.

The setup for next week is a warmer one early on, with cooler numbers showing back up later in the week. That transition is likely to provide us with another round of wet weather. Rounds of showers and storms look to dive in from northwest:
That’s a step that can deliver some strong storms and heavy rains. We will once again be on guard for high winds and local flash flooding.
This is all being pushed by a pretty sharp trough digging in for the middle and end of the week. It’s one that may actually try to cut off from the main flow, keeping the shower and thunderstorm threat going into the weekend. The Canadian Model is most aggressive with the cutoff low potential:
