Colder weather crashes in

Good Friday, folks. It’s back to reality as much colder air is back in the bluegrass state. This sets the stage for a much colder pattern, but additional systems are on the way from Sunday into early next week.

Today’s temps are feeling nearly 60 degrees colder than what we had on Thursday. That’s when record highs were recorded in many areas. Lexington hit 72 degrees, breaking the old record of 67 from 1925.

Back to today… Temps this morning are in the 20s, but a wind chill is closer to 10. A few snowflakes are showing up across the east, but that action clears out quickly:

Seasonal cold settles in for today and Saturday with the next system moving in on Sunday. The NAM shows the potential for rain and a mix:

The setup then turns ugly through next week as multiple systems roll our way, each bringing a lot of precipitation:

Additional high water issues will be possible as early as late Monday into Tuesday.

Have a great day and take care.
