Light snow tonight for some

Good Thursday, everyone. We have a much milder setup moving in for the weekend and that will bring the potential for high winds and thunderstorms. Before we get there, we have one more round of winter weather to track.

A band of light snow moves in here later today into the evening, but the main round moves in tonight and early Friday. The best chance to put some snow on the ground is across the northern half of the state:

That’s a sharp cutoff on the southern edge of the snow, so don’t expect much for most of the region.

Here are a couple of tracking tools for ya:

Whatever falls won’t last very long as milder air pushes in during Friday with a few showers taking over. Milder winds blow this weekend as a big storm cranks in the plains. That could push our wind gusts to 50mph at times. This could bring some showers and strong storms at us later in the day…

That will be followed by another similar looking¬†system rolling in here by the middle or end of next week…

Following that is another cold look for the middle and end of March:

I leave you with your weather cams to track today’s flakes.
