Mild weather for Keeneland

Good Wednesday, folks. We have a very mild pattern coming at us for the next several days and that includes the opening of the spring meet at Keeneland. This mild pattern may become warm for a day or two, but some storms look to crash the party.

Let us begin with today and roll ahead. Highs top out in the 60s with a mix of sun and clouds.

The opening day for the spring meet at Keeneland is Thursday and the weather looks to cooperate. Highs will be near 70 with a mix of sun and clouds, but a stray storm can’t be ruled out. The best chance may come later Thursday night and early Friday. Here’s the forecast for the first weekend of the spring meet:

That Saturday forecast looks awesome with temps deep into the 70s. Our next system may bring a few showers and storms in here for Sunday and Monday:

A few strong storms will be possible during this time as a weak front works across the region.

Another system looks to follow that up later next week as we may see a dip in temperatures for a bit.

This continues to be part of a very active weather pattern taking shape for the spring. I think this is another above normal spring in terms of rainfall numbers and should feature more severe weather than recent years.

You can see the heaviest rain targeting our region over the next 2 weeks:

Have a good one and take care.
