Changes as we inch closer to August

Good Saturday and welcome to the final weekend of July. Temps are back to normal for the next couple of days, but cooler changes are lurking as we get reach to close the month and kick off August. I doubt too many folks will complain about that. 🙂

Temps today are back into the mid and upper 80s with a mix of sun and clouds around. You will notice a touch more humidity in the air and this may fire up isolated showers and thunderstorms. If anything does go up, they will show up on your tracking toys…

Sunday will be similar in terms of temps. but there is a better chance for a shower or storm to go up. That’s especially true in the afternoon and evening.

Showers and storms will then increase from west to east later Monday into Tuesday, but neither day will feature all day rain by any means.

The big news is the cooler air being ushered in by this system as a trough digs back into the east by Tuesday:

That trough may try to spit and leave energy slowly meandering across the south later in the week into next week. That could create some kind of cutoff system trying to develop, bringing a return of rain chances. You can see that on the GFS animation from Monday through Sunday:

Have a happy Saturday and take care.
